Hello,
My friend and I are planning to attend NYU next summer...we are also requesting to be roommates. We are traveling from Canada, but if we are not placed together, then we will have to cancel (parents won't let us travel/stay alone They want us in the same room). Therefore, if we receive approval stating that we have been placed in the same building and same hall, should we assume that we are roommates? I read the post that said we will not know our roommates until the day we arrive, which is problematic for my friend and I, as we will not be going unless we are placed together. Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks! Smiler

We cannot guarantee roommate requests. If you are placed in the same building and have requested one another as roommates then the chances are pretty high that we will be able to place you together. However, please bear in mind that room assignments are made based on availability. In the beginning of the summer it is easier for us to accommodated roommate requests because there are fewer people in housing, later in the summer that becomes more difficult.
