1. I'm not sure how many weeks I need to stay. What should I put on the application?
It is recommended that you request the maximum number of weeks you think you will need. It is easier to reduce the length of your reservation since we cannot guarantee that we will be able to add on the weeks that you request due to space limitations. For information about date changes, click here.[/URL]. 2. Can I arrive on a day other than Sunday? Yes, you can check in any day of the week your reservation begins, however, if you are going to check-in on more than four days (Thursday) after your reservation is scheduled to begin, you must notify the Residence Hall Operations Manager of your assigned residence hall. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your reservation as a "no-show" and the assessment of a cancellation penalty. 3. What do I do if I can't arrive the week I'm scheduled to arrive? You should notify the Office of Summer Housing. If this notification is received seven (7) days prior to your scheduled check-in date, the charge will be removed for the week(s) you are canceling. If notification is received less than seven (7) days before your arrival date, your arrival date will be updated in our database, but the charge for that week will remain assessed to your account. For more information, please click here. 4. Can I change my dates after I arrive? Yes. All date adjustments must be made at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the beginning week that is being added or removed from the existing reservation. This change request should be submitted to the Summer Housing Office. All dates changes submitted after April 19 will be subject to a $25 processing fee. For additional information, please click here. 5. Is there a fee for changing my dates? If you change the dates of your reservation on or before April 19, there is no fee. After April 19, all date changes (which includes extending, reducing, or changing the dates of your reservation) will be subject to a $25 processing fee. 6. Can I extend past the final week of Summer Housing? No. August 8 is the final day of Summer Housing. Only academic year NYU students with a confirmed reservation for Fall 2009 housing may remain past August 8. Please note, academic year NYU students studying abroad for Fall 2009 must check out by August 8. 7. I'm scheduled to check out on Saturday, but my plane leaves on Sunday. Is it possible to stay an extra night? No. If you stay one day beyond your official check-out date, you may be charged for another week's reservation. 8. What are the Summer Housing dates for 2009? Housing is available by calendar week only, Sunday, May 17, 2009, to Saturday, August 8, 2009, for a maximum stay of 11 or 12 weeks (based upon enrollment). Pro-rated weeks are not available. Minimum stay for all summer residents is three (3) consecutive weeks. Only continuing spring residents and NYU summer students with classes beginning May 18, 2009 may check in on May 17. All other applicants may request arrival dates beginning on Sunday, May 24, 2009. 9. When will you begin accepting applications? We anticipate that we will put our 2009 application online in mid February 2009. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Special Sessions Admin, |
